RULES FOR THE FIELD TRIALS: 1. All Handlers are personally responsible for the control of their dogs at all times and shall be personally liable for any claims which may be made in respect of injuries which may arise or be caused by their dogs. All persons attending the trials must consider themselves absolutely under the control of the Officials. 2. All dogs must be registered with KUSA before entry. Bitches in season within the precincts of the Trial are forbidden. 4. Castrated dogs and spayed bitches are eligible for entry. 5. Only those dogs actually taking part in the Field Trials are allowed at the venue. 6. The Regulations relating to licensing and to all other matters to do with Field Trials as set in Schedule 3 (Championship Breed Shows) and Schedule 4 (Non-Championship Breed Shows) of the Constitution of the Kennel Union of Southern Africa shall apply to Field Trials so far as they can be relevant to Field Trials and so far as they do not conflict with the specific terms of this Schedule 5C(1). A copy of the rules will be available at the trials. 7. Anyone on the venue at a Trial openly impugning the decision of a Judge or Judges shall render himself liable to be reported to KUSA under the provisions of KUSA Schedule 1, unless he is availing himself of Section A.10.3, of Schedule 5C(1). 8. Conditions attracting immediate disqualification are set out in Regulation 31 of Schedule 3 of KUSA Regulations for Championship Shows (with exception of clauses 31.3.4, 31.3.6 and 31.3.14). 9. If the club considers the weather and/or venue unfit for the holding of a Trial, the meeting may be held at a different venue or postponed from day to day until the end of the week, when the stakes that are not decided upon may be abandoned and the entry fees refunded, or a fresh draw may be made and a fresh date fixed for the abandoned stakes. 10. The Field Trial Committee reserves the right to change the advertised venue of the Trials if this becomes necessary due to fire, flooding, etc, at the time of the event. KUSA must be informed on the first working day after the field trials 11. If an advertised Judge is prevented from filling his engagement for either the whole or part of the field trial, the Field Trial Committee shall have the right to appoint another Judge. 12. All dogs born on or after 1st September 2010 must have a microchip certificate. 13. JUDGES HAVE FINAL DECISION. Where the Rule or Guide does not cover a particular situation, the decision will remain with the appointed Judges on the day. DEFINITION OF THE STAKES: DERBY STAKE: Is open only to dogs which are not more than twenty-four months of age on the date the trial is being run. The dog remains a Derby candidate for that season irrespective of prizes won. MAIDEN STAKE is for dogs that have not been placed in a previous Novice or Open Stake nor have won two Maiden Stakes prior to the closing of entries. OPEN STAKE is for Dogs without restriction as to age or previous performance. In order for an Open Stake to carry championship status, the minimum number of dogs taking part in the Trial shall be eight. | |||

PRIZES: Trophies to all winners of Derby, Maiden and Open. All places to receive a medal and certificate. All COMs to receive a certificate. REFRESHMENTS, CATERING AND ACCOMMODATION: Meals in the form of light breakfasts, lunches and dinner will be on sale to Competitors and Spectators. The meal request form will be sent out under separate cover. Liquid refreshments will be available all weekend. LIABILITY: The Committee will exercise all reasonable care in conducting the trials, but it must be clearly understood that, due to the nature of the sport, competitors, spectators and officials are invited to enter at their own risk and in so doing absolve the Club, Committee and Landowners from any claim whatsoever arising from loss or damage by, or to, any person or property during the course of the trials. | |||
