THE DRAW: Draw for running order conducted on the first day of the Trial (May 6) at the venue DEFINITIONS DERBY STAKE: Is open only to dogs which are not more than twenty-four months of age on the date the trial is being run. The dog remains a Derby candidate for that season irrespective of prizes won. MAIDEN STAKE: Is confined to dogs which have not been placed first, second or third in a previous Maiden, Open or Championship Stake at a Field Trial for HPR Breeds prior to the date of closing of entries. OPEN STAKE: Is for dogs without restriction as to age or previous performance. In order for an Open Stake to carry Championship status, the minimum number of dogs to actually participate in the Stake shall be fourteen. LIMITATION OF ENTRIES: No person shall handle more than three dogs in any stake, unless he provides a dog handler to assist him NATURE OF TEST: The system of judging will be entirely at the discretion of the Judges in accordance with the HPR Field Trial Regulations as set out in Schedule 5(C)3 of the Constitution of KUSA. | |||

PRIZES: 1. Floating Trophies for winners of Stakes. 2. Medals and Certificates for placings. Certificates of Merit as decided by the judges. CATERING: Catering will be contingent on the Covid-19 restrictions and risk at the time of the trial. Specifics will be given closer to the time. ENTRY RULES: 1. All Handlers are personally responsible for the control of their dogs at all times and shall be personally liable for any claims which may be made in respect of injuries which may arise or be caused by their dogs. All persons attending the trials must consider themselves absolutely under the control of the Officials. 2. All dogs must be registered with KUSA before entry. Bitches in season within the precincts of the Trial are forbidden. 3. Castrated dogs and spayed bitches are eligible for entry. 4. The Regulations relating to licensing and to all other matters to do with Field Trials as set in Schedule 3 (Championship Breed Shows) and Schedule 4 (Non-Championship Breed Shows) of the Constitution of the Kennel Union of Southern Africa shall apply to Field Trials so far as they can be relevant to Field Trials and so far as they do not conflict with the specific terms of this Schedule 5C(3). A copy of the rules will be available at the trials. 5. Anyone on the venue at a Trial openly impugning the decision of a Judge or Judges shall render himself liable to be reported to KUSA under the provisions of KUSA Schedule 1, unless he is availing himself of Section 1.9.3, of Schedule 5C(3). 6. Conditions attracting immediate disqualification are set out in Regulation 31 of Schedule 3 of KUSA Regulations for Championship Shows (with exception of clauses 31.3.4, 31.3.6 and 31.3.14). 7. If the club considers the weather and/or venue unfit for the holding of a Trial, the meeting may be held at a different venue or postponed from day to day until the end of the week, when the stakes that are not decided upon may be abandoned and the entry fees refunded, or a fresh draw may be made, and a fresh date fixed for the abandoned stakes. 8. The Committee reserves the right to change the advertised venue of the Trials if this becomes necessary due to fire, flooding, etc, at the time of the event. KUSA must be informed on the first working day after the field trials 9. If an advertised Judge is prevented from filling his engagement for either the whole or part of the field trial, the Committee shall have the right to appoint another Judge. 10. All dogs born on or after 1st September 2010 must have a microchip certificate. 11. JUDGES HAVE FINAL DECISION. Where the Rule or Guide does not cover a particular situation, the decision will remain with the appointed Judges on the day. LIABILITY: The Committee shall exercise all reasonable care in conducting the trials, but it must be clearly understood that, due to the nature of the sport, competitors, spectators and officials are invited to enter at their own risk and in doing so absolve the C.F.T.C Committee and Landowners from any claim whatsoever arising from loss or damage by or to any person or property during the course of the Test. | |||
