NATURAL ABILITY TEST The Draw will take place on: 26th of March 2022 at Vischgat Farm, Midvaal, Meyerton Park (Farms), Gauteng, at 07H00 SPANIEL TRIALS The Draw will take place on: 19th of March 2022 at Waterhaven Country Estate, 74 Mimosa Avenue, Knoppieslaagte 385-Jr, Centurion, on Saturday, at 13H00 DEFINITION OF THE SPANIEL STAKES: 1. Puppy Stake is for Dogs from six months and not exceeding twelve months of age, dating from and inclusive of the date of its birth on the first day of the trial. 2. Junior Stake is for dogs’ range in age from 6 months to 24months. As there isn’t a Maiden Stake for Spaniels older dogs that are not ready for the Novice stake can run in the Junior test but is unable to achieve a placing (1 – 4 places). Older dogs are thou allowed to achieve a Certificate of Merit (COM) if the judges feel the dog passed the required standard. 3. Novice Stake is confined to Dogs which have not been placed first, second, third or fourth in an Open or Championship Stake, or have won three Novice Stakes prior to the date of the closing of entries. 4. Open Stake is for Dogs without restriction as to age or previous performance. In order for an Open Stake to carry championship status, the minimum number of dogs to actually take part in the trial shall be eight. Other Gundog breeds may enter the above stakes but cannot be placed. | |||

Open to purebred HPR gundogs register with KUSA Certificates and trophies will be awarded. Other prizes and certificates for places and special prizes may be awarded CATERING: Natural Ability Test Coffee, Tea, and rusks will be available for Competitors and their assistants/handlers/spouses on arrival. Please provide your own lunch and liquid refreshments. Spaniel Trials Meals in the form of light breakfasts and lunches will be available for Competitors and their handlers/ spouses. The meal request form will be sent out under separate cover. Please provide your own liquid refreshments. RULES FOR THE FIELD TRIALS: 1. All Handlers are personally responsible for the control of their dogs at all times and shall be personally liable for any claims which may be made in respect of injuries that may arise or be caused by their dogs. All persons attending the Trials must consider themselves absolutely under the control of the Officials. 2. All dogs must be registered with KUSA before entry. Bitches in season within the precincts of the Trial are forbidden. 3. Castrated dogs and spayed bitches are eligible for entry. 4. The Regulations relating to licensing and to all other matters to do with Field Trials as set in Schedule 3 (Championship Breed Shows) and Schedule 4 (Non-Championship Breed Shows) of the Constitution of the Kennel Union of Southern Africa shall apply to Field Trials so far as 2they can be relevant to Field Trials and so far, as they do not conflict with the specific terms of this Schedule 5C(2) and 5C(3). A copy of the rules will be available at the trials. 5. Anyone on the venue at a Trial openly impugning the decision of a Judge or Judges shall render himself liable to be reported to KUSA under the provisions of KUSA Schedule 1, unless he is availing himself of Section I.3. of Schedule 5C(2) and Regulation 1.9.3., of Schedule 5C (3). 6. Conditions attracting immediate disqualification are set out in Regulation 31 of Schedule 3 of KUSA Regulations for Championship Shows (with the exception of clauses 31.3.4, 31.3.6 and 31.3.14). 7. If the Club considers the weather and/or venue unfit for the holding of a Trial, the meeting may be held at a different venue or postponed from day to day until the end of the week, when the stakes that are not decided upon may be abandoned and the entry fees refunded, or a fresh draw may be made, and a fresh date fixed for the abandoned stakes. 8. The Field Trial Committee reserves the right to change the advertised venue of the Trials if this becomes necessary due to fire, flooding, etc., at the time of the event. KUSA must be informed on the first working day after the field trials 9. If an advertised Judge is prevented from filling his engagement for either the whole or part of the field trial, the Field Trial Committee shall have the right to appoint another Judge. 10. All dogs born on or after 1 September 2010 must have a microchip certificate. 11. JUDGES HAVE FINAL DECISION. Where the Rule or Guide does not cover a particular situation, the decision will remain with the appointed Judges on the day. LIABILITY: The Committee will exercise all reasonable care in conducting the trials, but it must be clearly understood that, due to the nature of the sport, competitors, spectators, and officials are invited to enter at their own risk and in so doing absolve the Club, Committee and Landowners from any claim whatsoever arising from loss or damage by, or to, any person or property during the course of the trials. | |||
