| Classes and Grades: | Dogs will be shown first and then bitches in each of the following breed classes with the exception of Baby Puppy where dogs & bitches will be shown together: BABY PUPPY ( 4 months and under 6 months of age ) all puppies MINOR PUPPY ( 6 months and under 9 months of age ) PUPPY ( 9 months and under 12 months of age) The following classes are for those dogs that have not been awarded a C.C. at Championship Shows: [We have taken this decision to make it more attractive to the members who have no wish to show your dogs at Championship shows – but just come out for the day to Support the Club and your breed, for which we thank you] JUNIOR (12 months and under 18 months of age) NOVICE (OPEN to dogs/bitches who have never been shown before) GRADUATE (18 months and under 24 months of age) S.A. BRED (for dogs/bitches bred in SA. - any age) VETERAN (dogs/bitches that are over 7 years of age) OPEN (for dogs/bitches of any age) The following classes are for those dogs that have been awarded C.C.’s at a Championship Show Or have been awarded Champion Status: CHAMPION VETERAN (only to dogs and bitches who are Champions over 7 years of age) C.C. WINNERS (only for dogs and bitches who have won C.C. awards at Championship Shows - irrespective of age. – puppies do not Qualify, they automatically enter into the puppy classes above.) CHAMPION (for dogs/bitches awarded the title of Champion) | ||
| Challenges: | All the unbeaten class WINNERS of the above classes will qualify to compete for: BEST PUPPY IN SHOW – all those unbeaten winners of the puppy classes BEST OF BREED IN SHOW – all those unbeaten winners of the Junior, Novice Graduate, S.A. Bred, Veteran and Open classes RESERVE BEST OF BREED IN SHOW BEST OPPOSITE SEX OF BREED IN SHOW BEST IN SHOW – all those unbeaten winners of the Champion Veteran Classes, C.C. Winner Classes and the Champion Classes together with The Best of Breed winner and the Best Opp. Sex of Breed in Show winner [provided that the Best Opp. Sex Winner was not also the Reserv. Best of Breed winner] will compete for Best in Show. | ||

| THE CLUB WILL PROVIDE : REFRESHMENTS- fruit juice, tea and coffee - AND A LIGHT SNACK WILL BE AVAILABLE ON ARRIVAL AND DURING THE SHOW. UNFORTUNATELY, SHAR PEI TREATS AND OTHER DRINKS –YOU PROVIDE. WE WILL HAVE A SHOW RING WITH PLENTY OF SHADE BUT IT WOULD BE ADVISABLE TO BRING YOUR OWN CHAIRS, DOG CRATES OR BLANKETS – we cannot master the movement of the “Sunâ€. Please make sure you have your dog on good collar or choke chain and leash, so that he/she can’t pull out of it. Bitches in season are welcome, but must be crated or must wear a “panty†when out of the ring. Panties are not allowed to be worn in the ring during the Open Show. | |||
