Notes:
Well organised, well run show and I congratulate the chairlady and Committee on their efforts. Unfortunately I need to report on a biting incident which occurred in the Junior Dog Class on Saturday - exhibit no 108 (Boschkop Azrael - ZA014949B16) owned by Mrs A.C. Fischer which Exco needs to be made aware of. incident occurred whilst the Judge was checking the exhibit's dentition. Judge asked the handler to please show him the exhibit's dentition. Handler was struggling to show the dentition and the judge advised her to remain calm and not to become stressed. The Judge moved from the front of the dog to the right hand side and the dog flew out at him and grabbed his left hand. Due to the judge's quick reflexes, the dog only caught him on the top of his hand breaking the skin (superrficial wound) with no injury to the palm of his hand. After a discussion with the judge, the exhibit was disqualified and asked to leave the ring. In my opinion the above mentioned exhibit poses a threat as no warning signs are shown by the dog before the aggression ocurrs. Nikki Redtenbacher
